  • Company's commitment to meeting EU standards, securing renewable power sources, and innovative electrolyzer deployment positions it as a leading energy transition solutions provider.
AM Green Ammonia B.V. has successfully achieved the Final Investment Decision (FID) for its first million-ton green ammonia project in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. This milestone signifies the kick start of the company's ambitious plan to reach a production capacity of 5 million tons per annum of green ammonia by 2030, equivalent to about 1 million tons per annum of green hydrogen. The project involves partners like John Cockerill for advanced pressurized alkaline electrolyzers, ensuring the use of round-the-clock renewable energy for producing low-cost green molecules. The majority of the green ammonia production from the Kakinada facility will be exported to European markets, supporting green hydrogen objectives both in India and Europe, and contributing to global decarbonization efforts. The project has also secured a 25-year fixed-price power purchase agreement (PPA) with NTPC, ensuring a consistent supply of carbon-free power. By utilizing gigawatt-scale pump storage projects and a manufacturing partnership with John Cockerill, the project aims to address renewable intermittency issues and achieve high utilization of deployed electrolyzers. In addition to the Kakinada project, AM Green is focused on expanding green ammonia production across multiple locations in India to achieve its target capacity by 2030. This initiative aligns with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission and Europe's green hydrogen import targets. The Company's commitment to meeting EU standards and providing low-cost green molecules for various industries underscores its role in energy transition and decarbonization.
