Bavaria Secures Funding for Green Hydrogen Hub Construction
Key Ideas
  • German Federal and Bavarian Ministries allocate 72.5 million Euros for Hydrogenious LOHC Infra Bavaria for the Green Hydrogen @ Blue Danube project.
  • The project aims to construct an LOHC hub in southern Bavaria by 2028, supplying up to 1,800 tons of green hydrogen annually for local industrial usage and pipeline injection.
  • Hydrogenious' LOHC technology enables safe and efficient hydrogen transportation using liquid fuel infrastructure, contributing to sustainable hydrogen supply chains in Europe.
  • Officials emphasize the significance of hydrogen projects in fostering a climate-neutral and sustainable economy, enhancing domestic green hydrogen production, and supporting industrial decarbonization.
German Federal Minister of Economics Dr Robert Habeck and Dr Markus Wittmann, Ministerial Director of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, have granted 72.5 million Euros to Hydrogenious LOHC Infra Bavaria for the Green Hydrogen @ Blue Danube project. This initiative, part of the hydrogen 'Hy2Infra' wave, focuses on establishing an LOHC hub in southern Bavaria by 2028 to deliver 1,800 tons of green hydrogen annually to local industries and pipeline systems. By utilizing Hydrogenious' innovative LOHC technology, hydrogen can be safely transported via existing liquid fuel infrastructure, ensuring efficient delivery with minimal loss. The project aligns with European goals for sustainable hydrogen supply chains and industrial decarbonization. Dr Habeck and Minister Aiwanger highlight the project's role in advancing the energy transition and enabling climate-neutral growth. Hydrogenious CEO Dr Teichmann expresses gratitude for the support, emphasizing the project's contribution to Germany's decarbonization objectives. The initiative represents a crucial step towards a greener economy and underscores the importance of hydrogen infrastructure development for achieving environmental targets.
