The European Investment Bank (EIB) has provided a 25 million euro venture debt facility to Resato Hydrogen Technology, a developer of hydrogen refueling stations based in Assen, Netherlands. The funding is intended to support Resato in enhancing its technology, scaling production capacity, and further developing hydrogen infrastructure. Resato plans to deploy 1,000 hydrogen refueling stations by 2030, in line with the EU's Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. The company also aims to relocate to a new assembly facility this year to increase production. EIB Vice President Robert de Groot emphasized the importance of hydrogen in Europe's energy transition, highlighting the key role of infrastructure in supporting alternative fuels. Resato's CEO, Rob Castien, expressed gratitude for EIB's support, seeing it as validation of the company's mission to advance hydrogen refueling solutions that contribute to reducing emissions and grid congestion, thereby facilitating Europe's move towards sustainable energy. With 170 current employees, Resato anticipates significant workforce growth, potentially reaching 1,000 employees by 2030. The company has initiated the H2 Academy to address the demand for skilled personnel in the hydrogen sector, collaborating with educational institutions to train professionals for careers in this industry. Noteworthy is Resato's established leadership in hydrogen refueling solutions, having sold over 55 stations across Europe and operating the market's largest refueling station in Neumünster, Germany, with a daily capacity of 2,000 kg.
