Power2X has announced a collaboration with Honeywell to implement eFining methanol-to-jet processing technology in the eFuels Rotterdam project, a large-scale hub for sustainable aviation fuel in Rotterdam. The facility will utilize green hydrogen and methanol produced from green hydrogen and biogenic carbon to create electrofuels, contributing to the reduction of fossil fuels. By combining green hydrogen and carbon dioxide, eFuels like eSAF can be produced. The project aligns with the European mandate for increased sustainable aviation fuel usage and aims to supply 40% of the required eSAF volume by the end of the decade. Honeywell's eFining technology enables the production of eFuels with low emissions and high efficiency, demonstrating a positive step towards decarbonizing the aviation sector.
