EnBW has initiated the marketing process for 100,000 metric tons of green ammonia annually from the Skipavika Green Ammonia (SkiGA) project in Norway, signaling a significant move towards decarbonization of industrial processes. The facility, set to start operation in 2027, aims to supply emission-free green ammonia to various delivery locations in Europe, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions and the promotion of sustainable energy solutions in the market. The SkiGA project in western Norway is designed to be one of Europe's pioneers in emission-free green ammonia production. By utilizing local green electricity and a planned electrolyzer with an output of 130 megawatts, the project aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions compared to traditional ammonia production methods. EnBW's collaboration with Norwegian firm FUELLA, which includes a 10% equity stake acquisition, emphasizes the strategic importance of the SkiGA project.
