Provaris Energy Ltd, Uniper Global Commodities SE, and Norwegian Hydrogen AS have signed a conditional Term Sheet for the supply, transport, and offtake of RFNBO compliant hydrogen, marking a significant step towards decarbonization. The agreement aims to establish a binding Hydrogen Sale and Purchase Agreement (Hydrogen SPA) by June 2025, with an annual delivery of 42,500 tonnes of hydrogen to Uniper in North-Western Europe using Provaris' H2Neo carriers from early-2029. This project is set to be Europe's first regional hydrogen marine transport project at scale, contributing to meeting Europe's 2030 decarbonization targets. The collaboration's focus on simplifying the hydrogen supply chain through compression provides efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Regionally sourced hydrogen from the Nordics, with transportation via Provaris' carriers, is highlighted as a viable and renewable energy-efficient option. Sites in the Nordics, particularly in Norway and Finland, are being considered for the development of RFNBO compliant hydrogen supply, with projects like the FjordH2 Project in Norway under feasibility study. The Term Sheet outlines essential terms for the Hydrogen SPA, involving Uniper as the buyer and Norwegian Hydrogen or a special purpose vehicle as the seller.
