Hygenco Green Energies Pvt Ltd in New Delhi, India, has secured the Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) pre-certification from Bureau Veritas under the CertifHy scheme. This achievement allows the company to export green ammonia to the European Union (EU), becoming one of the two Indian firms to receive this certification. The European Commission recognizes the CertifHy scheme for ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards and enabling end-users in the EU to access certified green and low-carbon hydrogen. Amit Bansal, the Co-Founder and CEO of Hygenco, expressed the company's commitment to producing sustainable green ammonia and driving the energy transition globally. The upcoming green ammonia plant in Odisha, with a production capacity of 1.1 million tonnes per annum, is a significant project that aligns with the EU's Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) targets. Bureau Veritas's audit of Hygenco's adherence to these standards indicates a pivotal milestone for the company, positioning it well in the global renewable energy sector and facilitating compliance with international regulations.
