Hygenco Green Energies Pvt Ltd has received the Renewable Fuel of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) pre-certification from Bureau Veritas under the CertifHy scheme, making it one of the few Indian firms to achieve this recognition. The CertifHy scheme, endorsed by the European Commission, ensures compliance with EU regulations and international standards for certifying renewable hydrogen and e-fuels. This accomplishment allows Hygenco to export green ammonia to the European Union, supporting its mission of providing sustainable energy solutions and contributing to global decarbonization. Amit Bansal, Hygenco's Co-Founder and CEO, highlighted the significance of this pre-certification in advancing the energy transition and offering low-cost, sustainable green ammonia globally. Hygenco is set to establish a cutting-edge green ammonia plant in Odisha, with an annual production capacity of 1.1 million tons. The phased project will include initial daily production targets and is expected to commence operations by 2027. Bureau Veritas's support in auditing Hygenco's processes ensures adherence to rigorous standards and facilitates access to the European market. The pre-certification aligns with the EU's Renewable Energy Directive targets and supports global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
