The Southern Hydrogen Corridor project, aimed at connecting North Africa with Europe through a hydrogen pipeline, achieved a milestone with its first ministerial meeting held in Rome. Energy ministers and officials from six countries, including Algeria and Tunisia, convened to advance the initiative. A Joint Declaration of Political Intent was signed at the meeting, emphasizing a commitment to developing the hydrogen corridor for energy security and renewable energy production. The project plans to link hydrogen production sites in Algeria and Tunisia to Europe through a 3,300-kilometer pipeline, with the corridor expected to supply a significant portion of Europe's hydrogen demand by 2030.
