EPC contractor MT Group has chosen Lithuanian company Nord Steel to supply hydrogen storage tanks for the first green hydrogen production and refueling station in the Baltics at the Port of Klaipėda. The 1.4 million euros contract encompasses the design, fabrication, and delivery of three advanced green hydrogen storage tanks, including a 40-bar green hydrogen buffer tank and two high-pressure tanks capable of withstanding 550 bar and 1000 bar. MT Group's CEO, Mindaugas Zakaras, expressed confidence in Lithuania's industrial competence to compete globally and emphasized the project's potential to showcase and export their expertise in green hydrogen technologies across Europe. Nord Steel's CEO, Remigijus Kurgonas, sees the project as a chance to set a benchmark for similar facilities in the Baltic region.
