Power2X has engaged Worley for engineering and project management services to develop the eFuels Rotterdam project, which focuses on producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and ultra-low carbon fuels. The facility will utilize green methanol derived from green hydrogen and biogenic carbon as its feedstock, with a targeted annual production capacity exceeding 250,000 tonnes of e-SAF. This initiative aligns with Europe's ReFuelEU Aviation Regulation, which mandates increased use of SAF from 2030 onwards to reduce CO2 emissions. The partnership between Power2X and Worley aims to advance the project through early engineering services, project design, and execution phases, emphasizing the importance of mitigating risks, ensuring cost certainty, and establishing a robust project schedule.
