Raven SR has unveiled plans for a groundbreaking waste-to-hydrogen production facility in Zaragoza, Spain, which has been recognized as a significant regional investment by the Government of Aragón. This innovative project is set to be the first of its kind in Europe, aiming to convert organic waste into sustainable hydrogen using Raven SR's unique Steam/CO2 Reforming technology. The facility is expected to become operational by 2026, producing an impressive 75 kg of transport-grade hydrogen for every ton of organic waste processed, equating to around 1.8M kg of hydrogen annually. Raven SR's CEO, Matt Murdock, expressed gratitude for the support received, emphasizing the company's commitment to sustainable and innovative technologies. The company's environmentally friendly technology stands out for its efficiency and reduced carbon intensity, as it does not require fresh water for the conversion process and consumes less energy compared to traditional electrolysis methods. The project has garnered financial backing from the European Commission and the Spanish Ministry, signaling a collective effort towards advancing renewable energy solutions.
