Renewco Power, a UK-based company, has announced a collaboration with INDHO to develop green hydrogen projects in Spain. The Joint Venture, known as Indhyco, will focus on industrial consumption by establishing efficient hydrogen production facilities near the consumption points. The partnership aims to bring 1GW of green hydrogen projects to the 'ready to build' stage within five years. Renewco's expertise in renewable energy projects in Europe and the US combined with INDHO's experience in the Spanish green hydrogen sector sets a strong foundation for achieving their ambitious goals. Spain's updated Energy and Climate Plan, unveiled in 2023, includes targets to nearly triple its green hydrogen production to 11GW by 2030, aligning with the broader EU objectives for sustainable energy. The development of green hydrogen projects by Indhyco will cater to both industrial and domestic sectors, contributing to the decarbonisation efforts. This collaboration highlights a strategic approach to address the pressing need for industrial decarbonisation and promote the growth of green hydrogen production in Spain, in line with the country's energy transition goals.
