TAP Collaborates with Penspen for Hydrogen Integration Readiness in Europe
Key Ideas
  • Penspen awarded contract by Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG to conduct hydrogen gap analysis for infrastructure readiness in Europe.
  • Evaluation to assess the integration of hydrogen blends into existing gas pipeline, supporting sustainability and capacity expansion.
  • TAP aims to enhance long-term sustainability by introducing new volumes of hydrogen and renewable gases in the region.
  • Collaboration focuses on ensuring safe and reliable hydrogen blending while maintaining infrastructure integrity in Europe.
In Baku, Azerbaijan, Trans Adriatic Pipeline AG (TAP) has enlisted Penspen to conduct a hydrogen gap analysis, evaluating TAP's infrastructure readiness for hydrogen integration. Penspen's UK team will assess the feasibility of introducing hydrogen blends to TAP's existing gas pipeline, supporting the expansion of capacity for hydrogen and renewable gases. TAP's strategy aims to enhance sustainability and decarbonisation in the region. The collaboration focuses on maintaining the safety and reliability of TAP's gas infrastructure in Europe. TAP, operating as part of the Southern Gas Corridor, facilitates gas transportation from Turkey to Southern Italy, enabling gas marketing to multiple European countries for long-term sustainability and decarbonisation efforts.
