TotalEnergies has partnered with Air Liquide to develop two green hydrogen projects in the Netherlands, aiming to produce and deliver 45,000 tons of green hydrogen annually by 2030. These projects, powered by renewable energy sources like the OranjeWind offshore wind farm, will significantly reduce CO2 emissions from TotalEnergies' refineries in Belgium and the Netherlands. The companies have established a joint venture to build and operate a 250 MW electrolyzer near the Zeeland refinery, expected to cut emissions by 300,000 tons annually. Additionally, TotalEnergies signed a tolling agreement for the production of 15,000 tons of green hydrogen per year for its Antwerp platform, further reducing emissions by 150,000 tons annually. TotalEnergies aims to fully decarbonize hydrogen in its European refineries, contracting over 170,000 tons of green hydrogen annually across various locations. The collaboration reflects TotalEnergies' commitment to sustainability and Air Liquide's dedication to providing low-carbon hydrogen solutions to support Europe's decarbonization efforts and reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
