UK bus maker, Wrightbus, has successfully delivered 31 hydrogen fuel cell buses to the German operator RVK in Cologne, marking their debut in Europe. These buses are currently undergoing testing before being put into service across the Cologne region. Additionally, Wrightbus secured an order for 20 fixed and 40 optional hydrogen buses from RVK in May 2022. The manufacturer has ambitious plans to expand further in Europe, with new hydrogen bus deals in Saarbahn, Vestische, Cottbus, and West Verkehr. They are also set to open a European service center in Bruhl and are actively hiring to supply buses to France and Benelux. Furthermore, Wrightbus signed a significant deal to provide over 1,000 buses to Go-Ahead, with the majority being zero-emission vehicles. The company's CEO, Jean-Marc Gales, expressed the importance of ensuring top-notch quality for their European debut and highlighted the establishment of the new service center as a strategic move to support operations in the heart of Europe.
