Key Ideas
  • Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) secured a Rs 2,800 crore power transmission project in Gujarat to support green hydrogen and ammonia production in Mundra.
  • The project involves expanding AESL's network with upgraded infrastructure, including high-capacity transformers and a new transmission line, boosting the company's transmission capacity significantly.
  • The initiative is part of India's green energy push, aiming to enhance renewable energy supply and support clean energy initiatives in Mundra.
Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) has successfully clinched a significant power transmission project worth approximately Rs 2,800 crore in Gujarat, India. The project, aimed at facilitating the supply of renewable energy to bolster green hydrogen and ammonia production in Mundra, was secured through a competitive bidding process managed by PFC Consulting Limited. AESL's role in the project entails expanding its existing network in the area, with plans to upgrade the Navinal (Mundra) electrical substation by introducing two high-capacity 765/400kV transformers. Additionally, a new 75-kilometre 765kV double-circuit transmission line will be constructed to connect Navinal with the Bhuj substation. These infrastructure enhancements will not only increase AESL's network by 150 circuit kilometres of transmission lines but also elevate its transformation capacity by 3,000 MVA, reaching a total of 25,928 cKM and 87,186 MVA, respectively. The project is slated for completion within 36 months and signifies AESL's sixth order in the ongoing fiscal year, bolstering its total order book to nearly Rs 57,561 crore. AESL emphasized that the transmission system's significance lies in its capability to deliver green electrons to support clean energy endeavors in Mundra, a pivotal location for India's green hydrogen aspirations. This initiative aligns with India's broader goals of promoting renewable energy sources and advancing sustainable energy solutions.
