Adani Group, in a notable initiative to promote sustainable energy practices, has introduced the blending of green hydrogen in the natural gas supplied to households in certain areas of Ahmedabad. The primary objective behind this introduction is to reduce emissions and work towards achieving net-zero targets. The company plans to implement this transition gradually, starting with a 5% blend of green hydrogen in the natural gas mix and eventually aiming for an 8% blend. Adani Total Gas Ltd, the city gas joint venture between Adani Group and TotalEnergies, has initiated the blending of 2.2-2.3% green hydrogen in the piped natural gas supplies in Shantigram, Ahmedabad. This step marks a significant move towards incorporating cleaner and more sustainable energy sources in the everyday energy consumption of households. By incorporating green hydrogen into the natural gas mix, Adani Group is demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship and contributing to the global shift towards eco-friendly fuel alternatives.
