Amara Raja Infra, a sister concern of Amara Raja Batteries, has announced the completion of the construction of NTPC's green hydrogen fuel station in Leh, Ladakh, situated at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level. This station, inaugurated by the Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs, marks the introduction of India's first hydrogen fuelling station aimed at promoting emission-free transport as part of the country's green mobility initiative under the National Hydrogen Energy Mission. The project includes the operation of five hydrogen fuel cell buses in Leh and nearby areas. The EPC contract involved the entire spectrum of activities from design to commissioning, and Amara Raja Infra will provide operational and maintenance support for the station. With a production capacity of 80 kg of green hydrogen per day, this station is set to be a key player in shaping the future of green hydrogen mobility and storage projects in India. This milestone not only signifies the entry of Amara Raja Group into the green hydrogen infrastructure sector but also paves the way for similar projects in other parts of the country, such as the upcoming stations in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, by NTPC.
