The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) celebrated its 58th annual day by showcasing its achievements in advancing the automotive industry's safety, smartness, and sustainability. The new mobility research centre in Takwe will feature state-of-the-art facilities like the ADAS smart city test track, cylinder test facilities, a hydrogen test facility, and the first high energy impact test facility of its kind in India/Asia. ARAI's focus on electric vehicles, autonomous driving, and engine development has led to projects such as AC/DC charging stations, battery management systems, and hydrogen-based electric 3-wheelers. The organization has also established an alternate fuel center to explore fuels like hydrogen and biofuels. Director Reji Mathai emphasized ARAI's commitment to innovation, skill development, and service diversification in aerospace and railways. ARAI's journey from a testing agency to a technology deployment research organization is reflected in its integrated services covering R&D, certification, and skill development. The emphasis on promoting vehicular safety with global standards is evident in ARAI's comprehensive evaluation facilities for vehicles.
