The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy in India has issued Scheme Guidelines for funding testing facilities, infrastructure, and institutional support under the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The guidelines focus on strengthening the quality and testing ecosystem in the Green Hydrogen (GH2) sector, with an emphasis on meeting specified standards and guidelines. The scheme aims to identify and address gaps in existing testing facilities for components, technologies, and processes in the Green Hydrogen value chain. It will also support the establishment of new testing facilities and the upgrading of existing ones to ensure the safety and security of operations. With a total budget of Rs. 200 Crores allocated until the financial year 2025-26, the Scheme will play a crucial role in promoting quality, sustainability, and safety in Green Hydrogen production and trade. The National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) will oversee the implementation of the Scheme. The National Green Hydrogen Mission, launched in January 2023 with a significant budget, aims to drive India towards self-reliance through clean energy and position the country as a leader in Green Hydrogen technology. The Mission is expected to facilitate the decarbonization of the economy, reduce reliance on fossil fuel imports, and pave the way for India to lead the global Clean Energy Transition.
