GAIL (India) Limited and Accelera by Cummins have joined forces to drive the green energy transition in India. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the India Energy Week 2025 in New Delhi to collaborate on sustainable, green energy, and energy transition technologies. The focus of their partnership is on exploring opportunities in New Energy Businesses, with a specific emphasis on hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. GAIL has already shown its commitment to clean energy by advancing its 'Net Zero' targets to 2035 and commissioning a 10 MW Green Hydrogen unit at its plant in Vijaipur. Additionally, GAIL has conducted pilot scale studies on blending hydrogen in CNG/PNG networks and is on track to set up multiple CBG plants across India. The collaboration with Accelera by Cummins will further enhance GAIL's efforts in promoting sustainable energy practices. The partnership is poised to explore hydrogen applications in sectors like transport, power, steel, and other industries, including the blending of hydrogen in natural gas pipelines and the development of hydrogen infrastructure.
