GAIL (India) Limited and Accelera by Cummins have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on sustainable, green energy and energy transition technologies in India. The partnership aims to explore opportunities in new energy businesses, with a focus on hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. GAIL has accelerated its Net Zero targets from 2040 to 2035, showcasing its commitment to clean energy. The collaboration will combine Accelera's expertise in new energy solutions with GAIL's existing Natural Gas infrastructure to promote environmentally friendly practices. GAIL has already taken steps towards green energy, including commissioning a 10 MW Green Hydrogen unit and conducting pilot studies on blending hydrogen in CNG and PNG networks. The MoU between GAIL and Accelera will facilitate the application and adoption of hydrogen in various sectors like transport, power, steel, and other industries, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in India's energy landscape.
