GAIL (India) and Accelera by Cummins, the zero-emissions business segment of Cummins Inc., have come together to collaborate on sustainable, green energy, and energy transition technologies in India. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two entities was signed at the India Energy Week 2025. The partnership will capitalize on Accelera's expertise in New Energy businesses and GAIL's well-established Natural Gas infrastructure to explore opportunities in New Energy Businesses, particularly focusing on hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. GAIL's initiative to accelerate its Scope 1 and Scope 2 Net Zero Targets from 2040 to 2035 underlines a strong commitment to sustainability. Through this MoU, both companies aim to delve into the potential applications of hydrogen across various sectors such as transport, power, steel, and other industries. This includes considering hydrogen as a mono fuel or dual feed alongside LNG/CNG, blending hydrogen in natural gas pipelines, and addressing aspects related to infrastructure, production, transportation, and storage of hydrogen.
