In New Delhi, GAIL (India) Ltd and Accelera️ by Cummins have come together to collaborate on sustainable, green energy and energy transition technologies in India. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies will leverage Accelera's expertise in New Energy businesses and GAIL's established Natural Gas infrastructure to explore opportunities in new energy businesses, particularly focusing on hydrogen production, blending, transportation, and storage. GAIL has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by advancing its Scope 1 and Scope 2 'Net Zero' Targets, now set to achieve them by 2035 instead of 2040. The collaboration under the MoU will delve into the application and adoption of hydrogen across various sectors such as transport, power, steel, and other industries either as a mono fuel or dual feed. This includes considering blends like LNG/Hydrogen/CNG, blending hydrogen in natural gas pipelines, and addressing aspects of infrastructure, production, transportation, and storage of hydrogen.
