A consortium comprising Gensol Engineering and Matrix Gas & Renewables has successfully secured a substantial project to establish a 237 MW electrolyser manufacturing plant in India. This initiative falls under the government's production linked incentive (PLI) scheme geared towards promoting green hydrogen. The competitive bidding process, managed by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), facilitated the consortium's triumph in acquiring this project. Gensol Engineering, known for its expertise in solar power engineering and electric mobility solutions, in partnership with Matrix Gas & Renewables, had previously won a 63 MW project through an SECI tender, showcasing their continued commitment to renewable energy. Anmol Jaggi, the Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, emphasized the significance of winning this PLI capacity under India's National Green Hydrogen Mission. The collaboration between Gensol and Matrix, both backed by common promoters, extends beyond green hydrogen to encompass related areas such as green steel and green ammonia, leveraging their combined skill sets. This achievement not only fortifies their position in the green hydrogen sector but also opens up avenues for growth and cooperation within the renewable energy landscape. The successful bid reflects the companies' dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions and underscores the potential for further innovation and partnership in the field.
