In Hyderabad, AM Green Ammonia India Pvt Ltd finalized a firm power purchase agreement with clean energy provider Gentari through its subsidiary, Gentari Renewables India Castor One Private Limited. Gentari will deliver 650 MW round-the-clock, carbon-free electricity to fuel AM Green Ammonia's upcoming green ammonia production sites. The collaboration entails Gentari establishing 2400 MWp of renewable energy capacity, incorporating solar and wind assets in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, making it Gentari's largest greenfield project globally. This initiative will also encompass 350 MW/2100 MWh energy storage for consistent green energy supply. AM Green Ammonia aims to be a major player in green ammonia, targeting five million tonnes annually by 2030 to support India and OECD net zero objectives. This output will also contribute significantly to green hydrogen production targets in India and Europe. Gentari's country head for India, Navjit Gill, highlighted the project's unique integration of solar and wind projects with energy storage, emphasizing the goal of expanding India's renewable energy capacity and driving sustainable growth in green energy.
