Hi-Tech Pipes, a steel pipes maker based in New Delhi, aims to boost its renewable energy capacity to 13.5 MW by December 2024, with a focus on sourcing 30% of its power needs from green sources. The company currently has 8.5 MW of solar power capacity and is set to add another 5 MW incrementally. This initiative aligns with the company's sustainability goals. Additionally, Hi-Tech Pipes has signed an MoU with a prominent renewable energy supplier to collaborate on green hydrogen projects. The supplier brings expertise in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) along with strong research and development capabilities in green hydrogen technology. The company operates six manufacturing facilities with a combined annual capacity of 7,50,000 metric tonnes, producing various steel products, including hollow sections, tubes, and cold rolled coils, along with solar mounting structures. By diversifying into renewable energy and green hydrogen, Hi-Tech Pipes is positioning itself as a more sustainable player in the steel industry.
