The Himachal Pradesh government has signed an agreement with Spray Engineering Devices Limited to establish a Rs 1,400 crore facility in Solan district for the production of API, green hydrogen, and ethanol. The integrated manufacturing facility is expected to provide employment opportunities to 1,000 youth in the region. This initiative is part of the state government's commitment to make Himachal Pradesh a green energy state by 2026. The project involves setting up India's first integrated manufacturing facility of API, green hydrogen, and 2G ethanol BBN. The facility will require 30 MW of green hydrogen in the initial phase and a projected 50 MW in the future. Additionally, the state is working on setting up a 1 MW green hydrogen plant in collaboration with Oil India Limited at Nalagarh in Solan district. The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of completing the project within a year to expedite the state's transition towards green energy and establish Himachal Pradesh as a leader in the field.
