Honeywell and AM Green have joined forces in a collaboration aimed at advancing India's low-carbon economy and fostering an ecosystem supportive of the government's sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blending mandates. The memorandum of understanding signed during India Energy Week 2025 focuses on evaluating the feasibility of producing sustainable aviation fuel from ethanol, green methanol from various CO₂ sources, and green hydrogen. This partnership reflects the alignment of Honeywell's portfolio with key megatrends like the energy transition. The collaboration's goals include reducing India's dependence on crude oil imports, establishing the country as a competitive exporter of green methanol, and aiding airlines in meeting CORSIA mandates for low-carbon fuel replacements. Through this initiative, Honeywell's carbon capture technologies and ethanol-to-jet solutions will be combined with AM Green's expertise in green hydrogen and ethanol production, setting the stage for a sustainable future and reinforcing a commitment to environmental stewardship. This partnership not only benefits Indian farmers by creating demand for ethanol feedstocks but also supports the National Green Hydrogen Mission's objective of boosting green hydrogen production through green methanol for both domestic use and exports. The feasibility study, expected to conclude by mid-2025, represents a pivotal step towards achieving significant decarbonization in the country, positioning India as a global leader in alternative fuel innovation.
