HORIBA Ltd. inaugurated its first-ever Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2-ICE) test bed Facility at HORIBA India Technical Center in Pune, India. The facility, with an engine testing capacity of 380KW, aims to contribute significantly to global carbon neutrality, decarbonization, and sustainability efforts. This initiative aligns with India's Make-in-India and Atmanirbhar Bharat missions, reflecting a commitment to self-reliance and local manufacturing. The investment of around INR 28-30 Crores in the facility showcases a strong commitment to revolutionizing the automotive industry in India with an environmentally efficient approach. Dr. George Gillespie highlighted the facility's role in supporting India's ambition of achieving net-zero emissions by 2070, emphasizing a move towards a sustainable future. The inauguration event was attended by key personnel from HORIBA, including Dr. George Gillespie and Dr. Rajeev Gautam, acknowledging the significance of this step in reducing CO2 emissions and working towards carbon neutrality by 2050. The facility's establishment marks a pivotal moment for HORIBA and the automotive industry in India, showcasing a proactive approach towards green energy revolution and sustainability.
