Hyundai is making a move towards further electrification with the announcement of the production of the N Vision 74, a concept car inspired by the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe. This decision is in line with the automotive industry's trend towards finding alternatives to fossil fuel-powered vehicles, including hybrids, fully electric vehicles, and hydrogen-powered machines. The N Vision 74 concept, unveiled at Hyundai's annual CEO and investor day presentation, is positioned as a future 'high-performance EV' by the brand. The design of the N Vision 74 pays homage to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupe, featuring a retro-modern aesthetic with sharp lines, a massive rear spoiler, and headlights borrowed from the Ioniq 5. While the brand has not officially confirmed details about the powertrain, reports suggest that the vehicle will utilize an electric-hydrogen powertrain. This setup is expected to include an 800-volt all-electric powertrain with two electric powertrain motors capable of delivering 670 hp and 900 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. The car will also house a 62.4 kWh battery pack along with an 85 kW hydrogen fuel-cell stack fueled by hydrogen tanks placed at the rear end.
