India's Ministry of New & Renewable Energy is driving the National Green Hydrogen Mission to achieve a production capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum of Green Hydrogen by 2030. The Mission aims to boost the production of Green Ammonia for the fertilizer sector under Mode 2A, catering to the increasing demand for Green Hydrogen derivatives. In response to the rising demand, the Ministry has amended the Scheme Guidelines to increase the allocation for the fertilizer sector by 2 lakh tonnes per annum. This move is expected to enhance the demand for Green Hydrogen and its derivatives in the country. With an initial outlay of Rs. 19,744 crores up to FY 2029-30, the Mission aligns with India's vision of self-reliance through clean energy, contributing to economic decarbonization and reducing reliance on fossil fuel imports. By fostering technology and market leadership in Green Hydrogen, India aims to inspire the global Clean Energy Transition and position itself as a key player in the shift towards sustainable energy sources.
