The Government of India, through the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), is investing Rs 100 crore to establish Centres of Excellence (CoEs) dedicated to Green Hydrogen as part of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. These CoEs will serve as hubs for cutting-edge research, skill development, and knowledge sharing to accelerate advancements in Green Hydrogen production, storage, and utilization technologies. The goal is to drive innovation, strengthen sustainable energy practices, and enhance India's journey towards energy self-sufficiency. By bringing academia, industry, and government bodies together, a collaborative ecosystem will be created to fuel breakthroughs in Green Hydrogen, thus boosting India's competitiveness in clean energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuel imports. The initiative, guided by the vision of achieving Aatma Nirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) in clean energy, is a significant step towards reducing the nation's carbon footprint and enhancing technological leadership. With an ambitious budget of Rs 19,744 crores allocated up to the financial year 2029-30, the National Green Hydrogen Mission aims to drive sustainable energy advancements and strengthen India's position in Green Hydrogen technology.
