The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in collaboration with the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), organized a significant two-day India-UK Standards Partnership Workshop on Green Hydrogen in New Delhi. The workshop symbolized a crucial step in fostering cooperation between India and the UK to advance clean energy transitions. Ms. Abbey Dorian from BSI emphasized the shared ambition of both countries to lead in green hydrogen and achieve a net-zero future. This event was part of the UK Government's Standards Partnership programme, focusing on promoting international standards in India to spur growth, attract investments, and boost trade. The workshop highlighted the importance of establishing safe, scalable, and globally harmonized Regulations, Codes, and Standards for the green hydrogen sector, including fast-track PAS standards and global hydrogen certification. It also aligned with BIS's efforts under the National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to bridge standardization gaps, explore new areas, and learn from global best practices to support India's green hydrogen economy.
