The event, held at Nau Sena Bhavan in New Delhi, marked the signing of an MoU between Indian Oil and the Indian Navy to advance hydrogen fuel cell technology for heavy-duty e-mobility. Indian Navy chief, Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, and Indian Oil Chairman S.M. Vaidya, along with senior officials, were present at the event. Both parties expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the importance of sustainable transportation solutions. The project will focus on testing the performance of fuel-cell electric buses in the challenging climate of the Delhi NCR region and analyzing the impact of local fuel and air quality on the technology. Currently, Indian Oil operates 15 fuel cell buses in Delhi-NCR and Gujarat, accumulating a significant mileage.
