Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is on track to commission a green hydrogen plant in Panipat, Haryana, with a production capacity of 10,000 tons per annum. The Chairman, Arvinder Singh Sahney, announced this development at the World Economic Forum 2025 in Davos, Switzerland. The plant is a significant step towards sustainability, aiming to bolster India's green energy mission and contribute to a carbon-neutral future. Sahney also highlighted IOC's efforts in expanding their city gas distribution business, focusing on developing infrastructure, providing more connections to households, increasing the number of compressed natural gas (CNG) stations, and boosting the supply of piped natural gas (PNG). While the corporation has no immediate plans for acquisitions, it remains dedicated to enhancing its operations. Additionally, Sahney addressed concerns about American sanctions on Russia, stating that India is equipped with multiple energy sources to meet its needs, thus minimizing the impact of such sanctions.
