Additionally, India announced its collaboration with the US in space exploration, with plans for an Indian astronaut from the Gaganyaan Mission to join the International Space Station. The partnership aims to secure global supply chains in critical sectors like semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and clean energy technologies. Dr Singh also highlighted the importance of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) for India's clean energy transition, emphasizing energy self-reliance and climate commitments. The meeting involved discussions on advancements in ocean energy, Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) technologies, biomass-to-energy conversion, biofuels, lithium-ion battery development, and emerging technologies like data analytics and artificial intelligence. The collaboration between India and the US, reinforced by high-level delegations, underscores a shared vision for sustainable development, economic growth, and global leadership in technological advancements.
