During a bilateral meeting on US-India Civil Nuclear Commerce in New Delhi, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh highlighted the importance of India's Green Hydrogen Mission in decarbonizing heavy industries, transportation, and power generation. The mission aims to enhance global climate goals through collaborations on Green Hydrogen and Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), promoting innovation and fostering a sustainable energy future. Dr Singh also announced that an Indian astronaut from the Gaganyaan Mission will soon join the International Space Station, marking a significant milestone in Indo-US space cooperation. The meeting emphasized India's commitment to clean energy transition, with a focus on international collaborations, research and development investments, and supportive regulatory frameworks. Officials discussed various advancements in key sectors, including ocean energy, Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS) technologies, biomass-to-energy conversion, data analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, lithium-ion battery development, and biofuels deployment. The high-level meeting concluded with both nations reaffirming their dedication to enhancing cooperation in emerging technologies, aiming to boost economic growth, national security, and global leadership in technological advancements.
