Various government bodies are collaborating to boost hydrogen production, with PSUs setting ambitious targets and plans to incorporate green hydrogen in refineries and distribution systems. Notable milestones in the sector since the last conference were shared, showcasing India's progress in manufacturing capacity, production rates, and tender issuances. The Minister detailed India's comprehensive approach through the Green Hydrogen Policy and National Green Hydrogen Mission, aiming to reduce fossil fuel imports, generate employment, and attract substantial investments. Moreover, states are developing policies to incentivize green hydrogen usage, reinforcing India's commitment to sustainable energy. Minister Puri highlighted that India's advantages in solar energy and infrastructure uniquely position the country to meet global hydrogen demand. Despite challenges in the hydrogen value chain, he expressed confidence in India's potential to create a thriving hydrogen hub, promoting economic development and energy security.
