Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced plans to significantly reduce India's logistics costs to single-digit levels within the next 2-3 years. During the CNBC-TV18 India Business Leader Awards in Mumbai, he highlighted the importance of exploring hydrogen as a future fuel and emphasized the role of biomass and biodigester technologies in producing hydrogen and CNG. Gadkari also expressed confidence that India will lead in alternative and biofuels globally within the next 10 years. He mentioned the current toll revenue of Rs 52,000 crore, projected to reach Rs 1.4 lakh crore in two years, with ongoing infrastructure developments like green express highways. The minister emphasized the financial viability of projects, with a budget of Rs 2.8 lakh crore and strong support from the Finance Ministry. He underlined the priority given to infrastructure development in various sectors like water, power, transport, and communication.
