Policies such as ONOP, NLP (Marine), and MAITRI are streamlining port services, reducing transaction times, and enabling real-time data usage. Additionally, India is collaborating with countries like UAE and Singapore to establish Virtual Trade Corridors for efficient cargo movement. During the event, the Union Minister met with several senior members of the Singaporean government and industry leaders to discuss collaborations and initiatives. India's focus on addressing supply chain vulnerabilities, developing key corridors, and enhancing trade routes was emphasized. The Minister also highlighted India's ambitious investment plans to boost logistics, port connectivity, and trade facilitation. A significant aspect of India's maritime strategy highlighted by Shri Sarbananda Sonowal is sustainability. The country is focusing on green port infrastructure, promoting low-emission shipping, and supporting innovation in low-carbon vessels. Noteworthy is the establishment of Three Green Hydrogen Hub Ports in Kandla, Tuticorin, and Paradip to drive alternative fuel adoption and green hydrogen production. India is actively involved in the IMO's Green Voyage 2050 initiative and is working towards developing Green Shipping Corridors.
