Gensol Engineering Ltd and Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd have been awarded a contract to develop India's first green hydrogen valley in Pune, Maharashtra. The project will focus on establishing a green hydrogen production facility using a build, own, and operate (BOO) model. The produced green hydrogen will be supplied to the specialty chemicals sector for twenty years. Anmol Jaggi, the Managing Director of Gensol Engineering, highlighted the vital role of government support, specifically from the Department of Science and Technology, in driving this initiative forward. Chirag Kotecha, the Whole-Time Director at Matrix Gas & Renewables, emphasized the company's dedication to aiding India in achieving its net-zero objectives through the national green hydrogen mission. The project, which is supported by the National Chemicals Laboratories (NCL) in Pune, will focus on green hydrogen production via electrolysis and engage in research and development activities. Additionally, Gensol and Matrix plan to extend their collaboration beyond green hydrogen to venture into sustainable fields such as green steel and green ammonia.
