Lhyfe and Fives have announced a partnership to offer complete decarbonised solutions for industries, focusing on hydrogen production and combustion. The collaboration aims to accelerate the energy transition by enabling the use of hydrogen in industrial processes without extensive equipment modifications. Lhyfe will produce and supply green hydrogen, while Fives will provide optimized and safe solutions for its use in industrial combustion processes. The combustion of hydrogen, which emits no CO2, is seen as a promising solution for reducing the carbon footprint of industrial activities. For example, the use of hydrogen in a secondary aluminium furnace could lead to a significant reduction in annual CO2 emissions. Lhyfe is known for being a pioneer in green hydrogen production, utilizing electrolysis of water powered by renewable energy. Fives, on the other hand, brings extensive experience in industrial engineering and hydrogen technologies, offering a wide range of proven hydrogen burners to various industries. The companies plan to focus on the metals, glass, and cement industries, as well as select industrial heating processes in Europe and North America. The agreement reflects a shared commitment to accelerating energy transition and addressing climate change through sustainable and efficient industrial practices.
