NLC India has initiated a bidding process for a 4 MW green hydrogen project in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. The project will be based on a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer system. Bidders are required to submit their proposals by March 24, 2025, with the bids set to be opened on the same day. The selected bidder will be tasked with various aspects of the project, from design and engineering to operation and maintenance. The project aims to establish a fully containerized 4 MW PEM electrolyzer system capable of producing at least 72 kg of hydrogen per hour, accompanied by hydrogen compression units and storage facilities at different pressure levels. Bidders must adhere to strict criteria related to their experience in the field and financial stability. Additionally, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy in India has outlined frameworks to drive the production of green hydrogen on a large scale, offering incentives for achieving production targets. This initiative signifies a significant step towards promoting sustainable energy practices and reducing carbon emissions in the country.
