SJVN Green Energy, through its subsidiary SGEL, signed an MoU with AM Green Ammonia in Delhi for supplying renewable energy to Green Ammonia Plants in Andhra Pradesh. AM Ammonia, under Greenko Group, is developing a large Green Ammonia Platform in Kakinada. The project will be developed in two phases, with a capacity of up to five million tons per annum by 2030, equivalent to one million tonnes per annum of hydrogen.
The agreement involves cooperation for long-term supply of renewable energy for the Green Ammonia Plants. SGEL plans to establish 4,500 MW of renewable energy projects in India, comprising solar and wind projects, to secure an annual supply of 11,500 million units.
Both parties will work on a commercial framework to ensure competitive tariffs and returns, with a focus on offering dollar-denominated tariffs. A definitive agreement will be finalized soon to formalize the collaboration. This MoU marks SJVN Green Energy's foray into the Commercial & Industrial Segment, expanding beyond its existing RE Portfolio of 7.2 GW.
