She hinted at the possibility of concluding the FTA agreement within the year. Additionally, Ursula announced plans to enhance security and defense ties with India, drawing parallels with the relationships the EU has with Japan and South Korea. The collaboration aims to address various common threats, including cross-border terrorism, maritime security, cyber-attacks, and attacks on critical infrastructure. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal and European Commissioner for Trade and Economic Security Maros Sefcovic also engaged in discussions regarding the progress of FTA negotiations.
