The Tamil Nadu government, under the leadership of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ohmium to set up a new electrolyzers and green hydrogen factory in Chengalpattu district. This initiative involves an investment of Rs 400 crores and is expected to create employment for 500 people. The agreement was signed during Mr. Stalin's official visit to the USA, where he is focused on attracting investments to achieve the goal of making Tamil Nadu a USD one trillion economy by 2030. Apart from the Ohmium agreement, the Chief Minister also sealed deals with six leading global companies during an investors' conference in San Francisco, resulting in Rs 900 crores of investment and the creation of 4,100 jobs in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai. Furthermore, Mr. Stalin met with executives from tech giants like Apple, Google, and Microsoft to invite them to invest in Tamil Nadu, signing an MoU with Google for establishing Artificial Intelligence research labs in the state. Ohmium, known for its expertise in green hydrogen production and PEM electrolyzer systems, has a global presence with hydrogen pipelines in the USA, Mexico, Europe, and Asia. The signing of the MoU in San Francisco signifies a significant step towards enhancing industrial growth and job opportunities in Tamil Nadu. The event also witnessed the presence of Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce T.R.B. Raaja, along with senior government officials who accompanied Chief Minister M.K. Stalin during the visit.
