HH2E has signed a €45m contract with Gerbrüder Karstens to collaboratively construct a green hydrogen production plant in Lubmin, Germany. The project aims to kick off construction post the approval under the German Federal Immission Control Act (BlmschG) and the final investment decision by HH2E shareholders. The plant's capacity will start at 100MW, with plans for scalability up to 1GW, aligning with HH2E's broader ambition of establishing 4GW of green hydrogen production capacity in Germany by 2030. Siemens Energy has pledged support for HH2E's initiatives by providing high-voltage systems and power transformers. To meet their targets, HH2E will integrate electrolysers with high-capacity batteries, leveraging Siemens' technology. Notably, JLEN and Foresight Group joined the endeavor by injecting €9.2m into the project, aiding in achieving the final investment decision. The partnership between HH2E and Gerbrüder Karstens, endorsed by financial investments and technological support, signifies a positive step towards advancing green hydrogen production in Germany's energy landscape.
