Indian Railways is on the brink of a groundbreaking revolution in the transportation sector with the imminent debut of India's first hydrogen-powered train. The Ministry of Railways is gearing up to introduce this eco-friendly mode of transportation on the Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana by March 31, 2025. The Research, Design, and Standard Organisation (RDSO) have played a pivotal role in designing the train, which will feature specialized coaches for hydrogen storage, integrated fuel cell technology, and a commendable maximum speed of 110 km/h.
